Bio & Marlin .166 Home buttons misplaced
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Both buttons appear to be placed over arrows and one is far to the left. Caused me to accidentally hit home bringing the Z all the way to the top.

The home at the top is centered between the syringe and arrow in attempt to make it obvious this would home the syringe. If you have a syringe in the syringe pump you wouldn't want to accidentally home the syringe pump as it would fill it with air.

We can move it but would rather some other user feedback before doing so.

Whats everyone's thoughts on maybe changing the lower right "home" icon to just a "Z"? This may help differentiate the difference between homing for loading an extruder, and just raising the extruder?

@karrad I like that idea or some form of it. I ran into the issue where I was mistakenly holding the top one expecting the Z to change (Then pulled a bunch of air into the syringe).

It should be noted that the above interface with the misplaced home buttons is only shown when you do not do the homing / leveling sequence.

As homing is done right at the beginning, and is not required past this point (we specifically recommend manually moving the head and bed) we removed the icons. We have updated this to make it more clear that one is for the syringe and one is for general movement:

@Greggb Any thoughts on this improvement?

EDIT: This is FW

This works much better. I like it.

One other note that might belong in a separate ticket - for fine motion, YES/No seems strange. Can we change it to ON/OFF?

@Greggb Glad to hear you like it! We are going to close this one down.

The Yes/No vs On/Off is a tricky one and is currently being discussed here: T10277

the issue here is that Yes/No is tied to multiple different screens and functions. In order to update this one we will either need to decouple everything (huge lift within marlin) or change everything to On/Off where it wouldn't always make sense. Please leave any feedback for that issue on T10277
