No Version number on splash screen at low resolution

Description

Testing on Mac OS X (El Capitan) 2.6.21 at low resolution (1344x756) Splash screen at launch is not showing version number... only says "Version Master"

Just shows "Version Master" but no "2.6.25"

This is because version.json is either not generated or not picked up right.

@mbocevski , Could you check if version.json is even in the .dmg file? We would also most probably move MAC build to cx_Freeze (right now it's Py2App AFAIK).

See T1085. I believe this is the same issue.

Fixed. I've added the version.json file to the Mac build (generated dmg). @Yahuba can you please verify?

Tested versions 2.6.33 and 2.6.34 and still not seeing version number in splash screen on Mac OS X (El Cap and Sierra)

I am seeing the version in 2.6.34. Make sure you use the 2.6.34 build from today, I think there was an earlier build that was also 2.6.34.

Confirmed on today's release of 2.6.34 that version number is showing up on splash screen in Mac OS X (El Cap & Sierra)
