Add scroll bars to printer selection screen
Closed, ResolvedPublic

smoke-testing 3.2.8 on Win 7 in Low Resolution (1280x720) and at initial launch, the add printer screen has bottom cut off. If you attempt to shrink window size from top tab, it does not work (it grabs the tab and begins to shrink then resets itself to its original size). Unable to move window so that "add printer" button is visible/usable. If you raise resolution so that you can advance out of this screen and then lower the resolution back to 1280x720, the same issue happens with the Machine Settings page.

This issue seems to have been partially resolved on the latest build of c.3.2.9. We are able to resize the window to fit the screen.
@alexei - I remember there were scroll bars on the Add Printer and Machine Setting pop up windows on c. 2.6. Should they still be there? Otherwise, I can close this ticket.

@TKostennov Lets add scroll bars onto the printer selection screen, it will likely help with other resolution issues that may pop up.

karrad renamed this task from Win 7 - Cant advance from Add Printer screen in Low Resolution to Add scroll bars to printer selection screen.Mar 21 2018, 10:40 AM

@karrad, Sorry, i can't check it on Win 7 right now, but on Debian i have scrollbar on a "Add Printer" screen.

@Yahuba, can you check it on Win 7 again, please?

Confirmed scroll bar in add printer screen for Win 7 on 3.2.14 build.

Just wanted to suggest that it may make sense to add a scroll bar to the Machine Settings screen as well. As it looks right now in MAC OS X, there are no scroll bars and no ability to stretch or expand the window. Users can grab the page with the cursor and move it around inside the window but they wont figure that out unless they try it.

Looks great. We now have the scroll bars in printer selection and machine settings in 3.2.15 debian.
