Verbatim PLA Packaging Change
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Verbatim has changed their filament packaging and we just received the new packaging on a shipment of Black PLA.
We need to verify that this is a roll-in change from Verbatim.
We may need to re-shoot photos and update the product page.

@Rtiernan once you have verification on the change, please add a comment below on what they estimate timing is and reassign task to Ben Malouf

This kind of thing is tough too since Shipwire is not first-in first-out. In other words, the pictures will be wrong for a while regardless. What we will do for sure, as soon as we know new packaging is in the mix, is add a note to the product page so customers know it may look different than what is pictured.

Verbatim has changed their packaging going forward to plain brown on all Filament in order to reduce costs.

@benmalouf I have an example of the new packaging on my desk. Do you want to take it with you tomorrow for new photos?

@Rtiernan If it's just the box that has changed, we can probably just pull this image off of the product page:

Yes, Although we still have the old style in house.

@benmalouf I just want to confirm before we close this task as resolved - you don't need to take pictures of the new packaging?

I think we should take new pictures, but it's not urgent since we'll probably have mixed inventory for a many months. I will add a note to the product page that "packaging my vary but filament has not changed" and remove the picture of the old packaging from the page. Can someone confirm whether or not the reel itself is unchanged?

Adding @Orias - I removed the packaging picture from the page and added a note about mixed packaging in inventory.

Adding @Megan @eBeardslee @lansky - Please make sure your teams know about the change to Verbatim's packaging.

@benmalouf notification to my teams sent, thank you.

We can probably remove this alert to reduce the clutter on the page:

Additional Accessory Recommendation:
Verbatim PLA filament absorbs heat and so benefits from additional active cooling. TAZ 1-3 users should install the Fan Add-on Kit.
