Feedback from a customer on the OHAI install for the dual V3

On the Dual V3 OHAI there is no step for installing the M3x12 BHCS. Referencing the Aero install this looks to be for bottom right screw for the tool-head mount

The language for installing the low profile corners seems to imply that replacements are included when the screws instead need to be re-used. Step 6 Aero, step 7 Dual.

Also the bed corners step doesn't say which way to face them. The recessed part should be facing up to allow the screws to sit down in the recess.

Step added to V3 Dual TAZ 5 Installation regarding M3x12 BHCS:

@DaniAO the OHAI here states that the Aero kit includes 3mm flat head screws in step 6:

The V3 Dual TAZ 5 Installation refers to 3mm flat head screws but doesn't specify where they come from.
These are not on the OCA BOM, were those intended to be in the kit? It isn't in the included materials step on either OHAI

Pullig @karrad in to this one.

Being that you know more about the TAZ 5, will the screws that are on there work for the corners that are sent or do we need to add the flat head screws to the BoM's?

I believe the flat head screws were included to prevent fan duct collision. The best way to verify will be install one on a TAZ 5 and see if we have clearance.

@zachah Did the customer(s) mention any issue with reusing the screws aside from the confusion?

@zachah wasn't in all the groups to get pinged, but now is.

The customer didn't mention any issues with the install other than the confusion. They just thought the directions were unclear and wanted to voice some input. They thought the one screw for the extruder mount to give room for the end-stop was supposed to be four screws, one for each bed corner.

@DaniAO Since it wasn't on the BoMs and doesn't appear to be necessary, I recommend that the OHAIs be updated to reflect re-use of the removed screws. Any opposition?

Nope! Sounds good to me.

Thanks!

Updated to reflect the following: (step 7)

7A
Using a 2.5 mm hex driver and the screws removed in the previous step, replace the bed corner fingers with the 3D printed lower profile bed corner fingers.

The recessed side of the bed fingers should be facing up.

Has been updated to reflect the following: (step 6)

6A
Remove the four original 3D printed bed corner fingers using a 2.5 mm hex key.

6B
Using a 2.5 mm hex driver and the screws removed in step 6A, replace the bed corner fingers with the 3D printed lower profile bed corner fingers.

@DaniAO @zachah
Do you find the above edits to be sufficient in resolving this ticket?

Those changes look great to me thanks Logan!

Correction, I did specify the orientation of the bed fingers on both OHAIs
so edit to https://ohai.lulzbot.com/project/lulzbot-taz-5-aerostruder-tool-head-installation/accessories/
is actually:

6A
Remove the four original 3D printed bed corner fingers using a 2.5 mm hex key.

6B
Using a 2.5 mm hex driver and the screws removed in step 6A, replace the bed corner fingers with the 3D printed lower profile bed corner fingers.

The recessed side of the bed fingers should be facing up.
