BUG: Control window not resizeable
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

We had a customer contact us about a problem with Cura 3.2.21 on his Mac OS High Sierra, version 10.13.5

When opening on console window the text entry box is not viable due to the console window going below his view able screen area. We have had him try uninstall/reinstall of Cura, deleting cache in between the uninstall/reinstall and problem still persists. Josef had him try using the grab function to see if he would be able to grab the Console window into a usable position, but still no results.

Customer also tried to create an account here to log the bug himself, but he is still waiting for the account to be approved.

@bigmansas Can he grab the top left corner and shrink the window? This should be scalable, and would also like to see if the customer can verify he has the latest drivers for his video card. (Directly from the card manufacturers site)

We will also get that user approved

I just passed the information on to the customer. I will update here once I receive an update.

@bigmansas Thanks, please get a log as well if possible

The customer just got back to us with this information.

Please see the enclosed Console Screen shot (LM_Cura_Console Screen.jpeg)

Note the three window manipulation buttons in the top left hand corner of the screen. Not shown, but the left-hand button is red and will close the window as it should. The other three window buttons are blank and do nothing.

Further, please note that the console window extends from the top of the physical screen real estate to below the ribbon bar at the bottom of the screen real estate. Whilst it is possible to gain the attention of the console screen and move it left to right and right to left, one can only move the screen down and back up to the limit of the top of the screen real estate.

It is not possible to resize the console window in any way and, as you can see, there are no scroll bars.

Please see the enclosed file Cura Lulzbot log file 30 June 2018 – as requested.

I am very confident that all the driver files for the MacBook Pro are up to date.

For the sake of completeness, the Machine is:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)

Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 8GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Graphics Intel Iris graphics 6100 1536 MB

OS macOS High sierra version 10.13.5

I think that this is about all the information I can give you right now.

@karrad, I think this one should help.

@bigmansas A potential fix is in place in Cura 3.2.23, please see if the customer would like to download and test

Thank you, I passed the information on to the customer.

The customer just got back to us and after updating to Cura 3.2.23 he is able to resize the console window and it looks like everything is working properly now.
