Wipe Nozzle button not working correctly with Taz 6 printer
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Cura LE Version: 3.2.23

Operating System: Win 7 & 10, Mac OS X (High Sierra & El Capitan), Debian (Stretch)

Printer: Taz 6

Tool Head: standard, dual v3, flexy

Description of issue: clicking on Wipe Nozzle button sends toolhead into wipe sequence at whatever height it is currently located at. If the user clicks on "Home All" first, the button works correctly. Other times, pressing the button only retracts the filament into the toolhead but does not even start the wipe sequence.

Steps to reproduce:
Once connected to printer -

  1. raise tool head to an elevated position from bed (try 150 mm)
  2. click on the "wipe nozzle" button

Looking into machine definition, no wipe gcode defined. We will need to create specific lulzbot_taz6_dual_v3_wipe.gcode and tie it to the definition

No wipe in TAZ 6 flexy v2 machine definition, will need generation there as well.

@Yahuba For TAZ 6 standard extruder, was it attempting to home Z at all? We are currently showing this for code:

from machine definition

"machine_wipe_gcode":
        {
            "default_value_from_file": "lulzbot_taz6_wipe"
        },

We are showing a home in Z, but no other movements in x/y. (which we will fix)

G28 Z ; home Z
G1 E-30 F100 ; retract filament
M109 R{material_wipe_temperature} ; wait for extruder to reach wiping temp

Yes, it seems to think its homing itself except that it will do it at whatever height it is currently located at.

Please test again on 3.2.25. Locally I am getting contact with the wiping pad, but seems like the v3 might still be a little high

Tested again on 3.2.25 with Taz 6 printer using the following configurations:
OS X (High Sierra) / Single Extruder Tool Head v2.1 = pass
Win 10 / Dual Extruder Tool Head v3 = pass
Win 7 / Dual Extruder Tool Head v3 = pass
Ubuntu / Dual Extruder Tool Head v2 = the nozzles were wiping on the pad but front nozzle was rolling off front end of pad during wipe sequence
Debian / MOARstruder Tool Head = pass

As we only probe on the rear nozzle for the v2 dual, going to close this one out. Thanks for verifying!
