Mount Adapter Customer OHAI 11/16/18
Open, HighPublic

Description

We will need a customer facing OHAI for installing these. MER can work up a rough version and Creative can clean it up and polish it.

Any updates on the OHAI for this one?

Disregard, we need the mounts before we can do the OHAI.

Not sure how deep we want to go for this OHAI. We absolutely need install instructions, but I don't know how much cura instruction we want to include. @Hob @DRobertson @mcoronado @Orias Harris and I were starting to feel out the proper division of labor between MER and marketing for generating OHAIs, but I feel like this would be a good opportunity to go over roles for OHAI development.

@mcoronado we need to get this customer OHAI rolling and I understand that customer facing OHAIs are set up by creative with directions provided by MER or Product Planning. I will get you basic directions (probably will need copy edits) by Monday.

Once we have documentation, I can jump in and get this done if @mcoronado is not able to.

The steps regarding tool head + adapter + wiring harness should be the same for all Mini adapters and the same for all TAZ adapters. I think we can write this out to have 2 guides, one for each adapter. We'd then point them back to the Accessories and Upgrade category for installing the assembly onto their particular printer. We wouldn't touch Cura LE in these two docs.

We could open with a shot showing the adapter and a spread of the tool heads showing that this ohai can be used for any of them. We'll need a shot of each tool head with the mount installed later on, for those install OHAIs.

I do agree this would be one of the customer facing white background installs.

Here are the directions for the mount adapters - please comment if you need clarification

As we agreed in the Planning Meeting today, MER/Planning will provide basic content of instructions with a simple/rough draft photo to show what's intended. Then Michael will be the point person within Marketing to ensure it is put into final form (both instructions, layout, as well as photos), and ensure MER/Planning reviews prior to final completion.

What date will we get the MER/Planning content?

Is the above ready to go?

adam added a comment.Nov 5 2018, 12:58 PM

That is ready to go, but it assumes we don't link back to the tool head instructions after mounting with the adapter (per @Orias suggestion above)

As discussed in Product Planning meeting, please give feedback about clarity in directions and if you need supplementary photos to explain any step.
Step 3 for the mini adapter will also require a 4mm driver

adam added a comment.Nov 5 2018, 1:02 PM

also step 5 is only required for Mini adapter - not TAZ

Working on getting Ohai user access. I'll post a draft for review on Wednesday.

@Hob @adam @Orias There's enough of a difference between the two adapters to do 1 for TAZ and 1 for Mini. I like Claudio's idea to not emphasize a particular tool head being installed, and point users to the separate tool head installation Cura steps. I'll draft it this way, if we need to make edits before Friday we can.

@mcoronado where did these go? Are they posted and ready to go?

adam added a comment.Nov 21 2018, 9:12 AM

Just updated these with formatting/steps/pictures - please look over and see what I'm missing

If you can explain the linking to specific steps I'd like to link the tool head specific OHAIs straight to the CuraLE sections

@Orias taking a last look at everything. They'll be published soon. I updated the last step to point to respective cura sections.

Here's some example syntax:

@Orias @mcoronado these OHAIs are still not published. It looks like we've sold several of these and although tech support isn't as concerned (these are a fairly easy install) we do need these published as soon as we can. What is holding up these from going live?

@Orias Do we have approval to publish these?

@Orias @mcoronado any update on this OHAI - trying to close this out.

@Orias @adam are these OHAIs good to be published so that this ticket can be closed?
Where do they belong? Here?: https://ohai.lulzbot.com/group/accessories/

adam added a comment.Thu, Apr 18, 10:49 AM

@logan I thought this OHAI was good to go months ago, but I don't know what's happened since.

Nobody ever confirmed if they were ready to publish, they are still residing in drafts
