Feature Request: Multi-Object load and 3rd party software compatability
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Something that the Legacy version of Cura has that would be nice to get back in Cura LE is the ability to shift-click and select multiple files when loading new files onto the build plate. This helps when there are multiple different files that are needed to be printed off at the same time.

Another thing that Legacy has is a bit better compatibility when working with third party software (ie Autodesk). LE will open entirely new instance when loading files from third party software, while Legacy will keep only one instance open when doing that.

@TKostennov can you please look into this issue to see if you can find a fix for this? There is a possibility this may not work because of a bug in QT and may not be able to be fixed with out a new version of QT.

Multiple files load works now, you can check it in T3549 branch.

@TKostennov ,
Make sure that T3049 is still fixed. Essentially you reverted this commit: rCTe5023794a0de4681bc8bacc771cc93e1c9d15804 which was a temporary workaround for Qt 5.9 file dialog returning also previously loaded models on some platforms.

@alexei My bad. Which platforms affected? Can you please post link to QT bug tracker? I will test it on my side soon.

@alexei I build it on my local machine and tested it on debian, all works fine. Can anyone test it on other platforms?
