Tool head hot warning plaque
Closed, ResolvedPublic

For Ul, we need to have a way to warn of hot parts on the back of the toolhead as well as the front. Since the toolhead is covered on the back, we could move it to the back of the interface board cover. I think a laser etched plaque that we would fasten would be the best and most professional option.
@mcoronado can you design the plaque for that?

@west @tutley can you please provide the plaque size requirement for Hot warning plaque that will affix to the front of the tool head fan shroud?

tutley added a comment.Nov 5 2018, 9:51 AM

Here is the latest blower shroud and the workable area for the label. 88mm x 17mm

We need printable dimensions considering the holes that will be needed to fasten the plate. Please work with @jessica to determine printable dimensions.

Hopefully this gives a better idea of screw placement and the workable area

@jessica please let me know if there are any questions about this

@jessica do you know when we might be getting these in?

These were ordered and should be in around the end of the month.

We got these in today and I will be bringing them over to Lago for review later this afternoon.

@Steven mentioned BHCS would likely look better than the SHCS that are being used. We have some coming in form HS

I would like to get this PO sent today. @eBeardslee @Hob @mcoronado can you please give the go/no go on this?

I think my only comment is that BHCS would look better. Other than that I think this looks good.

The Tool Head Hot Warning plaque looks good. Whichever hardware we use to secure it should be consistent with the LulzBot plaque. BHCS looks fine. I think it's been brought up before, but a building in a reverse bevel inset for plaques with an adhesive backing would eliminate hardware all together. the face of the plaque would share a plane with the printed part. @tutley @west Do you remember why we thought this wouldn't work? Was it concerns with the adhesive on a printed part?

If it's not worth exploring getting rid of the hardware, please proceed with the plaque as is.

We are cutting the timing to close as is... If we can proceed as is I will have the PO sent today.

@jessica please proceed. This was discussed a while back, and we are going to move forward with the current design.
