@tutley do you know if these have been ordered and lead times?

tutley added a subscriber: kim.Dec 12 2018, 9:39 AM

@west kim is getting samples sent from tech etch before we put in an order for production. They should ship today i believe.

@kim can you confirm?

kim added a comment.Dec 12 2018, 2:45 PM

Tyler, the samples were shipped today 12/12 and should deliver tomorrow 12/13

This change requires an update to the drawing to call out masking on the inside of the chassis for the USB fingers to have good conductivity to the chassis.
@samantha can you add this masking note?

Updated drawing pushed. @tutley please take a look and see if you find it satisfactory.

tutley added a comment.Jan 3 2019, 8:30 AM

@samantha looks pretty good but there is no indication that this masking should be on the inside of the chassis. I think instead of "MASK INDICATED AREA PRIOR TO POWDER COAT" we can say "MASK INDICATED AREA ON INSIDE PRIOR TO POWDER COAT"

@tutley good catch, that would have been unfortunate. Updated drawing pushed.

looks great!

@Steven @kent the change to sheet metal should be ready for review.

T4499 already used the G revision. That change is likely not being implemented, but the drawing had been sent out to some vendors already. This could cause some confusion if there are two G revs. There are also other pending changes that need to be implemented, such as T4594 and some supplier requested changes. I recommend changing this to H, putting the note from the other rev G in this one so it is logged in the revision control, but then reverted in H, and then also try to get the other needed changes into this rev H as well.

T5143 has a the usb area masked off in rev G. This ticket is likely the ticket we will go with

These parts have also been added to the BoM. Does this ticket need to be reviewed or can we close it? @west

@logan this part was added to the bom, but we need to get it added to the OHAI please.

@oliver is working with Pilot now to get the control boxes updated if you have any questions.

Thanks!

@DaniAO I can't find the part number for the USB static fingers on the BOM on master, do you know what it is?

@logan part number is EL-MS0535. Its on the BoM in OCA, still waiting for a bunch of changes to be merged in to the master branch from T5764

Thank you!

@west anything else need to be done or can we move this to needs to be reviewed?

looks good to me

kent closed this task as Resolved.Mar 20 2019, 2:01 PM

I reviewed this and the BOM has the EL-MS0535 on it, the chassis drawing has the callout for the masking, and the OHAI is updated. If there are any other issues related to getting the static discharge fingers implemented, please create a different ticket for them.

I also cherry picked the freecad and pdf source files that @tutley made.
