Freezing mid print
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

I've had two instances today where during a print, the printer freezes and stops responding completely. The touchscreen does not respond, and the printer has to be power cycled to continue.

I'm printing gcode generated in 3.2.23 and firmware version 2.0.0.37

Here is the gcode I was using:

@kent: Please upgrade to .44 . One of the things I added recently was an error screen that will help us determine whether those are USB read errors or something else (I am betting on the latter).

Actually, I am betting on the former... we probably are seeing USB read errors.

@mjpelletier and I are looking into the USB board not reading and causing errors

I flashed to marlin 2.0.0.45 and ran the same print, this time with the console open.

the console output during the error is:

@kent the error message on the screen is what @marcio added to identify what was stopping the printer it wasnt a fix, just a way to help identify the problem

@kent: Yes. If there are USB errors, try changing the USB drive, if the problem persists, we likely will need to bring the printer back to R&D for troubleshooting.

Quiver 8 has seen two USB read failures in initial testing, will work with Dani to get this one swapped out for Board updates.

The latest USB board revision takes care of the instability in the clock, as well as the potential boot up issue due to a slow rise time on the voltage regulator.
