Add extra grounding to cables
Closed, ResolvedPublic

@mjpelletier would like to add a ground lug to all motors, the internal harness already has grounding, so this would be completing the grounding from the case to the motor for esd. He also added two ferrites, one to the sensor actuator cables and one to the bed therm and probe wire and that seemed to help with EMI and ESD

The grounding is done and merged in the T5011 branch. I don't see anything about the ferrites on the sensor cables in there or the bed therm and probe wire though. Those tasks are still outstanding before we can close the ticket.

$ git diff --name-only master

I have added ferrites to the J20 sensor cable and the Bed-Temp/Z-Min wires in an effort to reduce ESD susceptability to ESD discharge. Further ESD testing may show whether these ferrites are needed or not. If they are, we can use the clip-on type ferrites on existing cable assemblies instead using cylindrical ferrites and incorporating them in new cable assemblies.

@kent the bed harness and extruder sensor harness have been updated with the ferrites that @mjpelletier recommends

Ok this is merged in. I had to resolve a merge conflict on this one because the version of the drawing in master had 4mm strip for the ground lugs whereas the version in the branch had 6mm on two of the three ground lugs. I added the 4mm strip to the version in the branch and now it is merged in.
