Red Tags: AS-CB0044 Blower Fan not working due to bad crimps
Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

I just went through 11 blower flans that were failed out of assembly and I was able to confirm it was due to a bad crimp. Talking with Pre-sub they have been seeing an large amount of these fans failing lately.

Once the bad crimp was removed I was able to get a connection and supply power to the fan. I used two different tests to confirm that these fans were working after cutting off the crimp. I used a multimeter to make sure that the wire had a good connection and followed it up with the MER desktop power supply to confirm that the fans were turning on.

@oliver What is the purpose of this ticket?

@logan This ticket is here to reference and keep track of instances of bad crimps coming out of assembly. I see a lot of fans failing out of assembly due to not working and almost all of them had no problems at all or were not working due to a bad crimp.

Do you have a solution to propose or have you determined the cause of the bad crimps?

code is not really used for tracking red tag instances, this board is for issues with manufacturing tooling, maintenance, or repair.
