Y-chain pivot screw may need to be longer
Closed, ResolvedPublic

When we did the second drop test, we noticed that the screw for the y-chain pivot mount had popped out and was sitting at the bottom of the box. This could be because we have to loosen the screw a lot to get the chain to pivot and there a just not many threads holding it. We could re tighten the screw after we pivot it but that may not be ideal for customers. We could also use a longer screw, but that may add to the BOM. I wouldn't recommend getting rid of the washers either since the spring can get sucked into the screw hole with out a washer.

I believe the screw currently being used is a M3x20 BHCS correct? There is a M3x25 SHCS already on the BoM. We could potentially switch to that

@MikeR m3x25 SHCS bottoms out before the spring is engaged. So this would require a printed part change. We lengthen the pivot mount shaft so the bolt can run through the part further

@MikeR Is this for the y chain pivot mount or the y chain pivot?

@west I believe it is for the y-chain pivot.

I have made the pivot mount shaft longer to test, slice request is on
