Interconnect Housing - endstop wire retention
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Lupe requested this ticket. Apparently this is also hoped for for TAZ Pro

The side of the Electro-Mech that builds control boxes is wondering if it would be possible to add a Wire Retention Clip for the section that houses the CB Z Endstop Harness.

The cable harness numbers are: EL-HR0150 for PRO and EL-HR0185 for Redgum.

The Interconnect Housing numbers are: PP-GP0407 for PRO and PP-GP0438 for Redgum.

While reworking the interconnect housings on the redgum chassis I received, I found myself wishing I just had a piece of masking tape to place over the Z Endstop wires to ensure they would stay in the groove and not get pinched under the interconnect cover.
Could this be a possible solution?

I personally dont see an issue

This would be a rather simple solution as well, avoiding further printed part modifications will expedite the Change Order required to implement this for Quiver.
@adam @DaniAO would we need to add a short section of blue masking tape to the BOM?
Otherwise this could be limited to an OHAI update

If the masking tape is a consumable, then no, we don't need to add it to the BOM. What part number/type of masking are you thinking?

logan added a comment.Jun 6 2019, 11:39 AM

@adam I don't know about part number, I was thinking of the blue painters tape that is frequently found throughout assembly areas.

If we use [OF-CS0373] ScotchBlue Painter's Tape, Multi-Use, .94-Inch by 60-Yard, 9-Roll (which I'm told is the blue tape found around production stations) we don't need to include it in the BOM since it's a consumable. It might behoove us to order some extra and distribute it to where it's needed prior to jumping right into production.
@jperry @sherylb @kim @Heather can you please confirm this is the part number for the blue tape used miscellaneously around production and let us know if we need to order more prior to using this as stated above?

@Heather @jperry please make sure the tape is ordered as it is a consumable and won't be on the BoM. That part number is a consumable tape.

I think making some sort of a kanban system for these parts would be ideal.

@adam So am I good to go ahead and incorporate this change?

adam added a comment.Jun 13 2019, 11:42 AM

We will need to complete a change order for quiver to incorporate there, but it looks like we are good to roll this into redgum now.

@adam Do you have a moment to get that COR submitted?

If this component is consumable and not on prior BOM's, what are we changing that would require a COR? This tape is available for use but will never show an on hand quantity, much like clear packing tape anywhere else.

To incorporate this change to Quiver instructions requires a COR

Okay, just making sure we understand what's happening with it.

This has been incorporated into redgum OHAI, step 26 here:
Removing redgum project from the ticket since this is complete there, will leave on Quiver board until CO is complete.
