@alexei Ready for review and merge
Wed, Oct 9
Upstream issue ticket has been closed, going to close this one as well.
Without any other reports, closing this one down as resolved.
@Greggb Glad to hear you like it! We are going to close this one down.
As homing is done right at the beginning, and is not required past this point (we specifically recommend manually moving the head and bed) we removed the icons. We have updated this to make it more clear that one is for the syringe and one is for general movement:
@marcio Sorry! I was more logging an official note of "tested with new firmware, it is fixed, closing out."
Sorry for the false alarm, I popped the electronics case out. It looks like there was a wire preventing proper movement. Once clearing, the fan spun right up when releasing motors.
I am unable to duplicate this on 22.214.171.124 firmware, going to go ahead and close it out.
Printed v1.2 and installed on my bio, looks to be good clearance wise:
@marcio Thank you!
@marcio Can you post a .hex file here for testing while we await the full build?
Tue, Oct 8
@tutley I got that one printed out, and it looks to fit, but clearance it is still pretty tight. Any chance we can get another couple of mm of clearance for it?
@Greggb Should be solid, I will nab it for you.
Ran a pretty basic print with this, but it came out well:
@Greggb New firmware with your adjustment can be found here: http://devel.lulzbot.com/software/Marlin/126.96.36.199/Marlin_Bio_SingleExtruder_188.8.131.52_a0ff23ddc.hex
@marcio On my first test here I got a clog with PA-CF. Would it be possible to increase the rate of retraction after purging? It seems very slow at the moment compared to the successful Mini 2 and Workhorse change filament options. (Tested on 184.108.40.206)
@logan Sounds good, we will go with these for the drawings
since the last time you entered the change filament screen or changed the nozzle.
@logan Can you look these names over and ensure they won't cause confusion with existing parts? We would like to avoid changing these in the future, better to get them now
@sarahv Thank you much.
@marcio Can we add 3mm to the MAX travel for E on bio?
Closing this one down, will re-open if required with future reports. (Fixed in 220.127.116.11)
@Greggb Glad you like it! Consensus here in PP is it looks much more like the part.
@marcio The new functionality looks good.
Now states syringe pump, thanks. Closing down.
@marcio That fix looks great, and should help alleviate any of the confusion reported form TJ. Closing this one out.
@dale Once you have the local PDF updated (and with whatever changes you would like) let us know and we can get that updated on the website. The quick start guides will need another ticket with specific requests for marketing.
@tutley Can you test this one and let us know how it goes?
@matth 18.104.22.168 is currently on devel, can you give it a shot and let us know what you think?
@Greggb New firmware with color scheme is available, you can find it here: http://devel.lulzbot.com/software/Marlin/22.214.171.124/Marlin_Bio_SingleExtruder_126.96.36.199_6140f9ca1.hex
@alexei Until T3605 and possibly T10249 are fixed, we still don't have correct directions for this in the manual. I know this is often requested by customers, and will need to be in the manual once corrected.

@dale Thank you for confirming how the customers are removing the filament. We can now proceed!
@Dante This is what we need clarification on. While using the Change Filament Option on workhorse we cannot duplicate this issue. Here is a photo of one I just pulled out of my workhorse:
With our requirement to print both flexible and standard materials out of the same tool head, the feed path was constricted on the Aerostruders to allow this. This is what is causing the additional jamming, and unfortunately cannot be removed while still being able to print flexible and solid materials.
@Yahuba Thank you much!
@Greggb We were hoping for some creative suggestions about what sections to change and what colors to change to.
@Yahuba Just to verify, you flashed TAZ 5 Firmware onto the RAMBo board in the TAZ 6?
@anolen Lets try to reach back out to the distributor, and see if we can get updated information on the sheet. Do you have their info?
Fri, Oct 4
@dale Sounds good, we will look into what we can do from a firmware side. Do you know how much you want to extrude first, how far you want to retract, and speeds for each?
@dale Ahh pro, as I recall you have already had this updated in the quick start guide?
@Yahuba Please see if you can flash the default firmware for a TAZ 5 with HS tool head on Windows 10
@TKostennov Through testing we found an issue with the Needle Gauge in recommended settings. It looks like I mistakenly asked for this to be tied to "nozzle diameter" instead it needs to change "line width" from the custom settings.
@dale Can we get any more details on this such as firmware version or filaments? Testing 188.8.131.52 Marlin on a Workhorse I am getting a purge before retracting filament.
@logan a slight tweak, thanks for the help with this! Lets go with:
@Steven I did not here this noise when printing yesterday, have you had any more issues on more recent firmware?
@TKostennov That sounds good on the top/bottom patterns. If they are not currently independent, do not spend a lot of time on it.
@Galadriel Have him disable windows defender, or specifically allow Cura LulzBot edition full access. It has been known to prevent USB communication with devices in the past.
Thu, Oct 3
@TKostennov We got some feedback from expert bio printer users today, and would like to add more fields to the recommended settings:
@jspreitzer Please print this on 3 of the workhorses currently set up in calibration using Anolens latest profile loaded into 3.6.20
@johnson We are able to confirm flashing successfully on high sierra 10.13.6 w/o issue. I would suspect some security measures are in place preventing communication. See if you can gather information on what they have security packages they have installed or their IT team might have installed.
@johnson Can you get the customer to send in the cura-lulzbot.log? It will help determine what the issue is.
@lsomers No problem, we're glad you are up and running! Please let us know if you have any other issues.

@Galadriel We have done no testing with octoprint on a raspberry pi. (The Pi is not open hardware) So I am not sure about how that would function with flashing firmware.
@Galadriel Checking that error, the first result on google is an octopi error. Are they trying to flash firmware through octoprint or connected directly to the printer via USB?
@lsomers Any update on how the newer version is working?
@TKostennov Any luck with the bars not being available when first launching with a cleared cache?
@alexei With the build issues I have not had any time to test this. Should local builds be fixed?
Tue, Oct 1
@Greggb As proposed above, we can have the spool reels be reversible. We can ship the unit with them installed on the interior, but have the ability for them to be swapped to the outside. Not only would this allow for larger reel sizes, but would allow customers to do hot swaps without fear of ruining their print.
I feel having them mounted externally on the sides for access a filament switching would be the best user interaction. We need to maintain the locking cabinet when heated in order to maintain a UL cert, and don't feel we can budge on that. Any time we have filament run out or need to be swapped, it will increase the likelyhood of failures.

@TKostennov Please update first print model for Bio to the attached file here:
After talking with Steven and Tyler, there is no need to set build container shape/size
@marcio If we need to call out a tool head on the about screen, we need to call it a "Syringe Pump"
We have not heard this reported since, we are going to close this out.
@franklin Can you see if this is still an issue? Looks like it kinda fell off the radar
@logan Any objections if I close this one down? I think we have all the gcode files updated at this point.
Closing out with a report of fixed above, let us know if it pops up again.
