We can move the Esun PLA and Esun HIPS profiles into experimental for all printers. From initial tests they will provide a good starting point for customers, but at the moment we do not plan to spend time improving these profiles.

@cj that's a great idea. I've never tried (or heard of) the faulthandler. I'll have to give it a try!

@kakaroto: Over the weekend I had to debug some Windows seg faults and started using Python faulthandler, which helps give better seg fault stack traces. This would require modifications to Cura and a new build, so it wouldn't fix the immediate issue for this thread, and it still might not provide enough information to solve it, I'm just noting how to enable faulthandler for possible future use.

@kakaroto: Working on Cura2 for OSX this week has been my first experience working with OSX development. I don't know what more the user could do to gather debug information.

kakaroto updated subscribers of T685: Mac osx issue using Cura 21.03.

Not that I know. We only have a Mac Mini and I have OSX 10.7.5 installed in a virtual machine on the Mac Mini.
OS X 10.7 was released in 2011, so it is already quite old (and it means the macbook 3.1 would have to be older than 2011 to be able to run 10.7), and while we do technically support OSX 10.7 (we build Cura to be compatible with its APIs), I don't see why it's failing for this particular user, and I don't know how we could help debug or fix it.
Also note that it shouldn't matter which hardware this is running on (macbook or a virual machine), if it's crashing it's because of the OS/system itself, and my tests are done on a clean install of 10.7.5. The best suggestion that I would have would be to try to reinstall 10.7 and install all updates on it. I understand though that this is not a particularly good solution.
Maybe @cj would have an idea, *if* he has more experience with OSX, but I don't know what else to say/try to help the user.

Customer responded This “user” has not “installed a custom python variable system-wide.” I don’t even know what that is. It is a clean install of 10.7.5 on a Macbook 3,1. So your tech ran it on a Macbook 3,1 running 10.7.5?

I have no idea why it would crash. I just tested Cura 21.03 on OSX 10.7.5 and had no issues. The debug output isn't particularly helping. I would suggest the user checks if he has modified his system in any way, such as installing a custom python variable system-wide, or something like that, as that's the most probably cause.

Yes the store pages might be different, but what we really want is that these two pages:

Orias added a comment to T688: Cura / Website temperature discrepancies.

Unfortunately the store product page will have different extrusion temperatures since there are different extrusion temperatures between each printer and also between each quality profile. For example, the Mini Alloy 910 profile has an extrusion temperature of 250, the TAZ 6 profiles have extrusion temperatures of 235 (medium quality) and 255 (high strength), in addition to different bed temps (105 vs 100).

Ah ok, you're talking about these temperatures here : https://www.lulzbot.com/mini-cura-profiles
I see what you mean, and yes, the temperature there should indeed be the exact same specified as in the profile itself. I thought you were referring to the temperature in the specs of the material itself on the store.
Taking just Alloy910 as an example, the profile says 250C/105C temps (hotend/bed). The profiles page says 245C/100C, but the store page says 245-250C/110C (https://www.lulzbot.com/store/filament/alloy-910) :

No I don't think so, but I might be misunderstanding. These are not actual temperatures these are temperatures set by the profile, and these are the same profiles both on the site and in Cura, so they should have the same temperature. It's just that the listed temperature on the site above where you can download the profile is different.

kakaroto added a comment to T688: Cura / Website temperature discrepancies.

Is the temperature discrepancies (sorry, can't access the document) caused maybe by the fan ? For example, you would say on the website that PLA needs 200C, but since the profile is enabling the fan, it's causing the nozzle to be slightly colder than what the thermistor would report, so 205C is set in the profile to give the same results as 200C without a fan ?
If this is the reason, maybe the website could mention the influence of the fan on the temperature requirements. If I'm wrong and completely off track (or if it would just cause confusion to the users), then please ignore this comment :)

Agreed! IMHO, we should always treat the current profiles in Cura LE as the official temps. Unfortunately, as profiles are updated any changes won't be automatically ported over to the filament profile pages, and will need to be manually reviewed periodically.

kakaroto added a comment to T633: Make a sound when finished printing.

The current Cura software is in maintenance mode only and no new features will be added to it.
What you can do however if you have a TAZ is to add an M300 command to the end gcode of your profiles which will make it beep to notify you that the print has finished.
You can see the arguments for the M300 command here : http://reprap.org/wiki/GCode#M300:_Play_beep_sound

The shadowed area represents the are in which you can't put a second object. It is meant to represent the toolhead's clearing in the case of "print one at a time", or in your case, it would represent the brim/raft around the object. Unfortunately, that shadowed area is an approximation of the area that the object uses and is used to avoid a conflict between objects. Cura can't accurately follow the L shape to allow such nesting.
One solution to that however is to use a CAD software to create a single STL which would have those shapes multiplied and nested already. You could then print that single STL file with the 4 L nested shapes, without problems.
