Description

This is the development version of Cura 2 for LulzBot 3D Printers by Aleph Objects, Inc.

Cura is a Free Software program that both prepares your files for printing (by converting your model into G-Code), and also allows you to control the operation of your LulzBot 3D printer. Cura LulzBot Edition is based on Ultimaker's version of Cura available here: https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura

@victor_larchenko Can you hold off on the Mini 2 for now? Not sure if we want to put that into software yet, as we do not have any defined release date

@karrad Currently we don't have any mini2 machine, can you please post definition for it to add?

We did re-test this yesterday in 2.6.40 and confirmed that the printer keeps printing when screen goes to sleep.

@Yahuba Please test it on Mac. It is working for me in today's 2.6.40 build. Note that the screen blank can still activate, but the system should not go into sleep mode during printing. I set the computer sleep time to a short value in order to test it.

Only with standard heads that came with printers, I can test with MOAR Struder and Dual Head, I also have a Flexy Struder and Flexy Dually I can try here. Will get them set up and tested today.

@b-morgan We have the Z-offset in the firmware set to the average of the Minis we build. You should be fine to use it without damaging the machine, but it can be restored to get it back to that specific units settings.

@karrad Maybe better add checkbox to machine settings that active only for mini printers, that will handle LCD installed or not(like heated bed)? Because it is very large amount of data will be duplicated if it will be same for lcd and non-lcd versions.

One more question and then I'll quit hijacking this thread... Instructions I've been able to find say save your Esteps so you can restore it (which I did) but I notice that the Z-offset is also different. Does that need to be saved/restored as well?

@b-morgan We have intended the firmware included within Cura 2 to be backwards compatible with Cura 21.08. You should be good to switch back to original Cura without updating firmware.

I have a question about Cura 2 beta and Marlin FW. Should I be loading firmware when I print with the gcode produced by Cura 2? Should I load firmware again if I go back to using Cura 21.08 gcode?

@tranter @efilenko @karrad @anolen : I was able to reproduce issue with 70 profiles and 100 OpenHardware.stl models. The problem is memory issue, machine become too slow.

@tranter @Yahuba : Please, retest it with fix for T1047. I don't see this issue on Ubuntu 16.04 now. It looks like it was related to the invisible button focus.

re-tested in Mac Mini on 2.6.40 Lulzbot Mini and had same results. Print paused but button did not switch to resume. Clicked on pause button and it switched to resume but pressing on resume, did not resume print.

marcio added a comment to T1187: Cooling gcode is incorrectly generated.

@EricNugent: I just made a test and saw that the older Mini FW (1.1.0.11) did in fact start the fan at S70, while the newer Mini FW (1.1.5.18) starts it at S0. It's a bit unclear as to whether this is something we need to adjust. We will investigate.

marcio added a comment to T1187: Cooling gcode is incorrectly generated.

I do not recommend using 1.1.4.15 as that was an alpha release of the "new" Marlin. Many bugs fixed since that version. Either stick to the "old" version, 1.1.0.11, or upgrade to the latest "new" Marlin (currently 1.1.5.18).

EricNugent added a comment to T1187: Cooling gcode is incorrectly generated.

@marcio : thanks. It does appear to be linked to the firmware. I pulled a foxglove installed with 1.1.0.11 and uploaded 1.1.4.15 and the fan did not turn on until m106 s100. So it appears to have a correlation between the firmware and machine.

marcio added a comment to T1187: Cooling gcode is incorrectly generated.

@EricNugent: It could depend on the firmware version you are using. I just tested on Marlin 1.1.5.18 and M106 S1 starts the fan. In current versions of Marlin, I tell it what the minimum speed is and Marlin adjust the range S1 through S255 to vary from the minimum speed to the maximum. This behavior makes sense as Cura 2 assumes a smooth transition from S1 to S255.

Yahuba added a comment to T1022: Cura 2 not showing extruder 2 temperature.

Testing this in 2.6.40 on Windows 10 and when I set temps for the rear extruder (Extruder 0), the temp on the Taz 6 unit display is showing the temp increase, but on the application in Windows, the temp increase is visible in the graph display but the temp display is showing the "set temp" but the actual temp stays at 24 degrees. However; when I select the front extruder (extruder 1) and set the temp for the front unit, both the temps in the application display start to rise simultaneously. I have attached two screenshots. The first shows the display when I heated the rear extruder and bed. You can see in the graph display that the bed temp is still rising and that the rear extruder is already at temp (240) while the front extruder is still cold. You can also see that above the graph display, the temps for both extruders are still showing 27 degrees and the set temp for the rear extruder is 240 degrees.

The green is generated through the json file, not graphically. We may need @victor_larchenko for this one. I'm thinking a red box with white text. Does that sound about right?

Pushed a fix. I have not tested the plugin since I do not have that particular plugin available to me. But regular pausing works, and I am fairly certain it will resolve the issue with the plugin too. Please retest once this update makes it into Cura.

From the screenshot, it looks like the problem is that the plugin is calling the private method "_pausePrint()" directly, and then resuming with "_resumePrint()". Neither of these methods update the state of the GUI, which is only done in _setJobState().
